The hand on the panel
I'm a train traffic controller at ProRail's Den Haag post, the person behind the scenes who keeps trains moving safely across one of the busiest networks in Europe. I found this work about a year and a half ago, and it's the first job that's ever truly fit.
Before this I started several studies and finished none of them. For a long time that felt like failing, but it taught me how I actually learn, and it led me to a role where staying calm, thinking fast and getting the small things right genuinely matter. Now I'm curious where I can grow next, with one eye on AI and IT.

Not a straight line. Every stop, even the wrong ones, led to the next, and the line keeps going.
Joined ProRail
Started at ProRail Den Haag: first the selection tests, then the internal training to become a train traffic controller. The first path that genuinely clicked.
Out of training
Finished the training and qualified as a train traffic controller. Now I hold the panel for real, and still learn something on every shift.
A parallel track
I'm happy exactly where I am. This isn't about moving on. Alongside the work I love, I want to build something new: I'm curious about AI and IT, and planning to explore courses in parallel.
